Exciting times!

Three GREAT things happened yesterday. . .
1.) We got the loan to start building the second phase of our church building!
2.) I purchased some rocking leopard print heels for $12.99 at Ross!
3.) My daughter discovered light-up shoes!

Now, I know that to some these may seem like trivial things.  But for me and the other "never dull Davidson's", these are monumental events!
We've been praying and working for over 18 months to get the funding we need to add offices, a rest room, a foyer and a parking lot to our sweet church - and yesterday was the day it finally came to pass. The hubs was giddy most of the evening - and you know that never happens!
On the shoes, you know I never dreamed that I would wear animal print, much less purchase animal print. But who could pass up $12.99?! I know, I'm walking on the wild side. . . (hee, hee)
And for baby girl, she needed some variety in the shoe department and I found some cute shoes (albeit pink) and didn't even know they were light-up until I got home and cut the tags off.  She spent the rest of the evening trying to make them light up (poor thing barely puts enough weight down when she walks.) She even tried to make another mom's shoes light up at basketball practice for kid #1 by tapping on the soles.

Life's an adventure, there's no doubt about it!

Closing out the year 2024

New Year's Eve. . . the end of a year that makes you reflect back on the last 365 days. Most of us are looking forward to the new year and some of us are looking back and wondering where it went! What happened to 2024?! What do we even have to show for it but some bumps and bruises? It's been a wild ride, ya'll!  But reflection is a good thing, right? Taking time to skim over the year and look for highlights and lowlights and facing the disappointments and celebrating the achievements - these are important things to do. So what were some of my wins and losses? What a great year! Celebrated 1 year of working for the church Traveled internationally with hubby several times Started year 2 of our ministry school Got a dog (a BIG dog) Graduated a kid from Bible School Started a kid at a private school (step of faith) What a tough year! Experienced a flood of sorts at the church (broken pipe) Got banned from entering a country Got a dog (a BIG dog) Moved adult kid back home (pare...

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. . .

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I wrote a blog. Posts were few and far between at best. I was working 40+ hours a week at a job. There were 3 children at home with various activities and none were driving so taxiing was my side hustle (unpaid, grueling hours). The Hubs was working 50-60 hours a week pioneering a church and starting a side business. So much has changed since the last post, that I contemplated scrapping it all and starting fresh.  Or should I?   Always a challenge to get all my words out, I hesitate to even write this one. But I will provide a catch-up for history's sake... Kid #1 is graduated and trying to be a grown-up on his own in a different city.  College courses, which are mostly online because of the big 'C', working almost full time and a girlfriend keep him pretty busy, but not too busy to call his mama every few days.  Especially when the bank account is low.  Kid #2 is finishing up his last year of high school and living hi...

What in the world is going on?!

Ok, so I haven't written a blog post in forever.  And there have been a few things going on in my world, so I thought it was high time to catch you up. Where do I start? Highlights: - Church building is up for sale (lots of interested parties), any day now - Looking for acreage for church but most affordable in size we need are FAR away from Spring - Let's move the church 30 miles away! Willis, TX here we come! - Laid off from job of 15 years, to throw a kink in the mix - Let's move our family first so we can 'make it home'! - But first, Christmas holidays and all the fun! - Look for rentals, find a rental house, get approved and register kids for new schools in less than a week. - Move family into beautiful, weird rental house near the lake and start taxi mom life. - Work on painting and fixing up house to put on the market, done (multiple showings every day), also any day now - Kid #1 makes baseball team, kid #2 is playing golf and has already played in...
