When was the last time you were inspired to do something? I haven't felt a lot of inspiration lately. Not much. At all.
But then something happened. Something started ticking inside - just a little at first. Then it got louder. Then the ideas started flowing again. I can't even explain it - or where it had gone or where it came from. But now. . . I want to paint. I want to redecorate. I want to start walking again. I can be crafty. I can grow plants. (I have houseplants that have lived since January!) I want to read more. I need to learn 'this'. I need to ask questions. It's like a light came on and it wasn't just from spending time on Pinterest.
Maybe there was no one BIG thing that snuffed out the inspiration. Maybe it was just a bunch of little things. Work, stress, busyness, listening to people and not Him, not taking time for important stuff, or making everything "important" stuff, and the list could go on. Oh, there are still storms going on around us. I still have to work everyday. I'm not writing a book or painting a mural yet. And my calf muscles are crying - seriously, after only one day of walking. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. There is life. There is inspiration.
Here are a couple of yummy nuggets that may have stirred the fire:
Colossians 3: 17 - And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are.
So, what's inspiring you lately? I want to know. . .
